Fanfare and Dialogue for Brass Choir, Keyboard & Percussion
Fanfare and Dialogue for Brass Choir, Keyboard & Percussion
“Fanfare and Dialogue” is a grandiose piece for brass choir, organ, and percussion. Composed in a quasi-sonata form, the work largely consists of fanfare-style passages, traded back and forth between the brass choir and organ, à la Eugène Gigout’s 1881 work “Grand Chœur Dialogué.” Requiring 12 musicians, the approximately 6-minute work is ideal for festival occasions, religious services, and would provide an ideal opener or closer for any concert. “Fanfare and Dialogue” provides exciting parts for each player and the piece varies in character with its many motifs and melodies - the organist even gets to play a cadenza, as well. The work would be well-suited for school and college groups, as well as community and professional organizations.
Scored for three Bb trumpets, two french horns, two trombones, bass trombone, tuba, keyboard and percussion.
